Our team of podiatrists provides comprehensive biomechanical assessment services to our clientele in the Coffs Coast region. We use the latest technology to diagnose and treat lower limb issues.
A biomechanical assessment identifies any abnormal function of the foot or abnormal foot structure or shape that could be causing pain, injury or other issues. At Sure Step Podiatry, an assessment consists of a Static examination and a Dynamic examination. A Static examination includes; a non-weight-bearing anatomical analysis, including range and quality of motion testing and muscle strength testing. In addition, a static assessment consists of close observation of posture and alignment. It may involve neurological and vascular assessments. Finally, a Dynamic examination includes walking and running gait assessments using the latest video gait analysis technology and Zebris Treadmill.
We have invested in the latest Zebris FDM-T treadmill to conduct in-depth biomechanical assessments. This high-tech equipment allows us to measure running and walking gait patterns, balance, and posture. It also allows us to measure any asymmetry in your body. This in-depth analysis provides comprehensive data to determine the cause of foot and lower-limb problems. With this information, we can develop an effective treatment plan to help you reduce or eliminate your pain or discomfort.
Once we’ve conducted a biomechanical assessment and diagnosed the issues, we will identify the most effective treatments. Treatment may include orthotics, custom-made arch supports, or physical therapy. In addition, we may also suggest lifestyle modifications such as exercise and stretching programs or changes to activity levels and footwear.
